A deal with the devil working for a short time

It was upon a time a great musician. Good pianist with strongest personality, fantastic Hammond player, intriguing composer, genius in finding out from synthesizers an innovative sound...

Talking about Keith Emerson is a really complicated affair. I keep still in my mind and in my heart masterpieces he c0mposed and played between 1968 and 1974: green, fresh and punchy performances with The Nice up to the greatest EL&P, Tarkus, Pictures at an Exhibition, Trilogy... what a magic golden age it was!

But, alas, that spell was over in a few years. And genius fell more and more downward up to the point of being nearly removed from people's memory and critics' reviews as well. Today very few persons remember Emerson (with his fellows Lake and Palmer) whereas the most of his contemporary colleagues are still being celebrated.
